Mohs SURGERY

Mohs surgery is one of the most effective surgical procedures designed to treat cancer. Our highly trained team at Mira Vista specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery – during which thin layers of skin are removed and examined.

Excision Surgery

Surgical excision is widely used in removing diseased tissues, especially cancerous ones. This procedure is focused on removing all diseased tissue until the cancer is removed and only the healthy tissue remains.

Early Detection and Prevention

Prevention is the best form of treatment for any type of disease, especially cancer. Cancer is more easily treated if detected early and that also ensures a higher cure rate. To be able to detect any abnormalities in their early stages, schedule an appointment with us at least once a year – we will perform a skin exam and check whether there are any suspicious lesions.

Routine check-ups should be performed on a regular basis in order to prevent the spreading of skin cancer to other parts of the body, as it is much harder to treat and poses a serious threat to your life if not caught early. These routine check-ups do not only have to be performed by healthcare specialists – you can perform a check-up by yourself at home and examine your skin from head to toe in order to check for any abnormalities.

Observe the pattern of moles, blemishes, birthmarks, and freckles, and possibly take photographs if you notice anything suspicious. Perform the check-up once a month in front of a large mirror, but if you find it difficult to perform the check-up alone, especially with areas that are hard to see such as your back or scalp, arrange for a friend or family member to help you.
